Episode 5: Maximum Electronica
Episode 5 already? With last week’s most reblogged post being the video for The Chemical Brothers’ excellent “Star Guitar”, we decided on electronica for the theme, but we narrowed it down even further to British electronica. The Chemical Brothers are just about the best thing to ever come out of Manchester, and they’re by no means the only British act to have revolutionized the electronica scene.
Also of note: we finally got around to recording some conversation for this episode of the podcast. It was the first time either of us had recorded and edited a podcast, so it’s a bit rough around the edges. So while this is certainly not the best podcast yet, it can only get better from here. We do however think this is our best episode yet, musically speaking, and that’s what really matters.
Here’s your tracklist. Enjoy.
- Chemical Brothers - “Star Guitar” (from Come With Us)
- Squarepusher - “My Sound” (from Music is Rotted One Note)
- Radiohead - “Skttrbrain (Four Tet remix)”
- Burial - “Unite”
- Orbital - “Halcyon” (from Works 1989-2002)
- The Prodigy - “Poison” (from Music for the Jilted Generation)
